Containers surrounding Supreme Court Karachi Registry removed

Karachi: Containers surrounding Supreme Court Karachi Branch Registry have been removed after almost two and a half months since the hearing of Karachi Suo Motu case concluded. Strict security measures were taken during the hearing of Suo Motu case on Karachi’s law and order situation, which was headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

The busy I.I. Chundriger road surrounding the Supreme Court building is the business hub of Karachi that generates billions of rupees every day. However, to ‘manage’ the security of VIPs and due to the ‘sensitive’ nature of the case, heavy containers were placed on the roads outside Supreme Court.

It seemed that the law enforcing agencies forgot to remove them after the case reached to a conclusion, causing trouble for the businesses operating in that area.

Even after the verdict of the Karachi suo motu case was announced in October, only one side of the road was resumed for public transport. The other side was still blocked with heavy containers, until a few days back.

The traffic flow was badly interrupted due to this blockage and commuters had to take alternate routes to Saddar and areas adjacent to Zainab market.

People have heaved a sigh of relief on the removal of remaining containers from roads.
