Ahmedabad: West Indies have given 260 runs target in third one-day international match against India here on Monday.
West Indies started slowly and scored only 177 runs till 43rdover for the lost of 5 wickets. But later on skipper Sammy and all-rounder Russell were hammering boundaries all over the park as West Indies scored 93 runs in the last seven overs to give the reasonable score to their side.
Sammy made 41 runs only off 17 balls with 5 fours and two sixes whereas Russell 40 off just 18 balls and hit 5 boundaries and couple of sixes.
The West Indies lost their openers within 50 runs but experience Marlon Samuels give solid stand who made patient 58 runs and stitched a 55 run third wicket partnership with Darren Bravo.
Bravo, who were unbeaten at 26, got retired hurt with a problem in his hamstring to leave Windies 97/2 in 26 overs
Vinay Kumar was picked of the bowler for India who took two wickets while Umesh Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin and Abhimanyu Mithun got one wicket each.
