Lahore: Former President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Asma Jahangir announced to represent Pakistan’s former ambassador to US, Hussain Haqqani, in the memogate case in the Supreme Court.
Ms Jahangir, who is also a former chairperson of Human Right Commission of Pakistan, expressed her willingness to represent Hussain Haqqani in Supreme Court during a private TV Channel’s talk show.
Talking in the programme, she said that no directives should be issued without hearing all the parties and no one’s name should be put on Exit Control List (ECL) without hearing his/her. She said that Hussain was not a terrorist so there was nothing wrong in hearing his stance.
She said that neither they had struggled for one or two judges nor to have military courts in the country. She vowed that they would continue their struggle for democracy and justice.
