Washington: US newspaper on Sunday claimed that US helicopters attacked on Pakistan’s military posts instead of NATO helicopters.
According to the US paper “Time”, US helicopters attacked on two posts of Pakistani forces near Afghan border in village Salala, where 40 troops were present and the attack was occurred at Friday night.
Newspaper claimed that the staff sitting in helicopters could not identified Pak forces post and attack thinking that it is a Taliban post.
According to the newspaper it was a deadliest attack on Pak forces pickets that left 24 solders dead. Earlier, in June 2008, eleven troops had been died.
Famous defence analyst Maria Sultan has said that CIA has held an operation against Pakistan and according to the decision of the cabinet defence committee US has to vacate the Shamsi Airbase, adding Salalah post was established to stop the movement of Taliban and NATO forces were informed about that.
