Karachi: Internet Service Providers Association of Pakistan (ISPAK) has said that implementing the orders of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to ban porn websites will take some time due to the inadequacy of the system.
Sources in ISPAK told The News Tribe that the PTA gave the orders to ban 170,000 porn sites.
About 90 percent of ISPAK members, including Wi-Tribe, Qubee, World Call, and Wateen have begun the process, but it will take time to achieve the target, a source in the association said.
He further said that the PTA would give a complete list of the sites to the ISPAK.
Around two dozen countries in the world have imposed a complete ban on porn sites to save the youngsters from explicit sexual content.
A few months ago, a student of class 7 had written a letter to the Information Minister, asking for the blockade of these sites, but no action was taken. Then he wrote a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, but to no avail.
Later on, a group of people hacked the websites of Supreme Court of Pakistan and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, issuing warning to ban all the pornography websites in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
