Karachi: National Bank of Pakistan on today has received Rs. 2.74 billion from Pakistan Railways after which disbursement of pension to pensioners in Lahore continued smoothly.
Yesterday NBP staff worked continuously for 16 hours and ensured that each and every pensioner present in the branch should be entertained.
Additional counters setup at different branches and extended working hours mainly helped in meeting the huge pensioners demand which mainly cameup due to non availability of funds from Pakistan Railways.
Even today NBP pension distribution branches will function after working hours to facilitate the pensioners.
NBP management has also decided that its pension distribution branches will function on Saturday and Sunday, if there is a need to fulfill Pakistan Railways pensioners requirements.
Earlier, NBP that said that whatever amount was received on Wednesday October 26, 2011 has been disbursed among the pensioners.
