Dubai: Pakistan’s right arm pacer Umer Gul snared Sri Lankan top order early in second test match here in Dubai on Wednesday.
Gul took three wickets while Muhammad Junaid got one wicket in first session of the match.
Earlier, Sri Lankan captain Tillakaratne Dilshan kept faith in his batting despite the debacle in the first innings of the first Test and chose to bat first on a flat Dubai track.
One of their second-innings heroes in Abu Dhabi test, Prasanna Jayawardene, had to sit out because of a groin injury. Kaushal Silva came in ahead of Dinesh Chandimal. They also rested Nuwan Pradeep and included Dhammika Prasad.
Pakistan made one change, going for Abdur Rehman’s left-arm spin ahead of the big-hearted Aizaz Cheema.
