Mohali: India defeated England in the third ODI of five-match series by five wickets at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali on Thursday.
India also took 3-0 lead in the series.
India chases the total of 299 runs in the 50th over for the loss of five wickets.
Ajinkya Rahane scored 91 runs while Gautam Ghambir and Parthiv Patel scored 58 and 38 runs, respectively. Virat Kholi and MS Dhoni shared 35 runs each.
Steven Finn and Tim Bresnan shared two wickets each while Graeme Swann got one wicket.
Earlier, English captain Alastair Cook won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 299 runs in allotted 50 overs for the loss of four wickets.
Jonathan Trott scored 98 runs not out while Samit Patel scored 70 rusn not out. Kevin Pietersen scored 64 runs while Craig Kieswetter and Ravi Bopara scored 36 and 24 runs, respectively.
Praveen Kumar, Vinay Kumar, Virat Kholi and Ravindra Jadeja shared one wicket each.
Rahane was declared man of the match.
