Obama to visit Pakistan in January

Washington: United States President Barak Obama will visit Pakistan early next year on a relations revival tour and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s arrival in the next week will be the first step towards President Obama’s visit.

US State Department has started preparations for President Obama’s visit.

During her visit the Clinton would discuss important issues regarding President Obama’s tour.

Obama’s visit is scheduled prior to presidential elections in the US as well as before Senate elections in Pakistan. He would now visit Pakistan January next year.

Head of Pakistan Desk at the US State Department Tim Linder King, who visited Pakistan with US Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan Marc Grossman, is still in Pakistan holding meetings with influential political and non-political personalities.

Sources also informed that Clinton would meet the President Zardari, Prime Minister Gilani and also the military leadership at the GHQ during her visit.
