Peshawar: At least six people were killed and nine others injured in a US drone strike in Pakistan’s north western tribal region, sources said on Saturday.
Local sources said that the drones fired barrage of missiles on a residential compound in Baghra area of South Western Agency.
They said that the unmanned aircraft fired nine missiles, targeting alleged members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. The sources added that  four people were killed and nine others injured in the fourth drone attack during last three days.
Pakistani security official confirmed the strike and said that the targeted compound was one of the few buildings used by mujahideen during the Afghan war.
Baghar is a mountainous area covered by thick forests and is difficult to access. It is said to be used by Pakistani warlord Maulvi Nazir.
According to reports, US President Barrack Obama has given approval for the fresh drone campaign in Pakistani tribal areas.
