Lahore: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) lawmakers in the Punjab Assembly marched towards the Chief Minister House and staged a sit-in against the provincial government.
Opposition leader Raja Riaz led the protest rally, which started from the assembly and culminated outside the CM House where a sit-in was staged.
The protesters holding placards chanted slogans against the provincial government and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for what they said his failure to overcome dengue virus in the province that claimed over 200 lives and bad governance.
Bottled water and other beverages were served by the CM House to the protesters, which they refused to take.
Addressing the sit-in, Riaz criticised the chief minister for holding portfolios of 16 ministries.
He said dengue could not be eliminated as there was no health minister in the province.
