Karachi: Hitting back at defiant Pakistan People’s Party leader Zulfiqar Mirza, PPP Sindh leader Sharmila Farooqui has said that former Sindh Home Minister can only become leader of the proscribed People’s Amn Committee.
The statement comes a day after Mirza invited the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz to visit Sindh. Speaking at a seminar, Farooqui said that several attempts were made to divide the PPP in the past, but they failed. She said that Mirza would not succeed in his efforts to create rift within the PPP ranks.
She said that every party member had to remain under the party discipline and action would be taken if anybody violated it.
She dispelled the impression that there was any division in the PPP ranks. She added that all the leaders of the party were united under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari.
