Washington: US State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland has said that Washington was in regular contact with Islamabd regarding Haqqai Network issue.
Addressing a press conference in Washington on Wednesday, she said that US indications of peace talk with Haqqani network was not a policy change.
She also said that US special envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan Marc Grossman’s visit to Islamabad would be very important. She said Grossman would raise several serious issues during his visit.
She said reconciliation process should be held under Afghanistan’s supervision. She said talks were only possible with those who are agree to break up ties with al Qaeda.
The State Department spokeswoman said if militants do not leave their approach then stern action would be taken against them.
