Islamabad: Chief Minister Baluchistan, Nawab Aslam Raesani has welcomed reports of dissident militants’ contact with Senator Lashkari Raesani calling it a milestone development in Baluchistan crisis.
Talking to media on Monday, the CM expressed his keen desire to resolve the issue of Baluchistan through friendly and mutual consensus, and reminded that he had extended truce to dissident militants numerous times, offering them talks.
Strongly rejecting any possible ties with Tehrik-e-Nifaz -e-Aman Baluchistan, he held it highly questionable that clandestine armed organizations could ever maintain peace in Balochistan. He said that he would definitely discourage any such endeavors, while any transgressors would be dealt with iron hands.
“Maintaining my status as the third predecessor of Mir Khan of Qalat, I would never allow anyone to set Baluchistan aflame, and while remaining within the Constitutional framework of Pakistan would always struggle for Provincial autonomy”, he declared.
He said that besides available freedom of speech and politics, everything would/should also be sought within the framework of Pakistan, and according to the Accord of 1940, strengthening the ambit of Federation.
Replying to a question, the CM reiterated his staunch opposition to creation of further provinces in the Country, as it was not a good omen for National integrity and democracy.
He also expressed his strong opposition to LB polls in Country while he also assured that government had a sharp vigil over the floods’ situation, and had made all the necessary preparations to deal with it, and also help flood affectees.
Replying to questions regarding surfacing of polio cases during the ongoing year, he said that it was indeed an alarming situation, and all health and relevant departments have been alerted to make anti-polio campaign more effective.
Referring to Gwadar issue, he said that efforts were underway to terminate the contract with Port of Singapore Authority, in order to run the operation on indigenous basis.
He disclosed that Board of Governor meeting held in connection with Rekodik issue had allocated Rs.60.5 billion for running the project by Provincial government, itself.
He also informed that federal government had provided Rs2.5 billion to National Highway Authority (NHA) to complete all National highway projects.
