Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that it will not allow any one to challenge court’s authority and that no summary is needed on court’s decision.
CJP gave these remarks while heading a 5-member bench of Supreme Court (SC) about implementation of court’s decision in PCO judges’ case here Friday.
Babar Awan appeared on behalf of the federation. He told the court that a summary had been sent to Prime Minister about PCO judges.
CJP said it was court’s order and there was no need of any summary in this respect. “Keep your summary with you. No one will be allowed to challenge court’s authority. Ask the Prime Minister to issue notification today,” CJP remarked.
Awan prayed the court to grant two more days as Prime Minister was not in Islamabad.
The court while summoning Attorney General (AG) and law minister allowed the government time upto August 9.
