Islamabad: Pakistan’s main opposition party has demanded to call heads of entire security departments in the parliament for detail briefing regarding the situation of the country especially Karachi.
During the session of National Assembly on Wednesday the members started debate on the law and order situation of Karachi.
Ahsan Iqbal of PML-N said that some 1,140 people were murdered in Karachi during last six months, where people from all walks of life are becoming the fuel of fire play but nobody knows that what government is doing. He said that other countries of Asia are excelling in the fields of economics and on the other hand the economics of Pakistan is being made hallow. He suggested that new force may be formed to tackle the situation of Karachi as current police and rangers have completely failed in this regard.
Federal Minister for Railways and leader of ANP Ghulam Ahmed Bilour said that Karachi should be handed over to Army for two months, which should conduct operation cleanup in the city against all kinds of arms and ammunition. The entire nation should accept this reality that Karachi is the city of all people and everyone wants to live there. He said that the bullet is not the solution of any problem. Leaders of MQM should play their role to restore peace in the city.
MNA from MQM Asif Hussain said that the efforts are being made for genocide of one particular group in Karachi. PPP government gave the message that they were at the back of murder of Murtaza Bhutto by inducting that officer on the slot of IG Sindh, who was involved in the killing. The government has no deliberation to save Karachi but they want to spill away the country into pieces like 1971.
Senior parliamentarian from PML-N Javed Hashmi was of the view that shifting of federal capital from Karachi to Islamabad shook the roots of the country. “After arrival to Islamabad, the politics of the country came into the hands of army and we came under influence of GHQ”, he added.
He said that everyone wants to get control on Karachi to become helm of all affairs there. It is very regrettable that a leader of PPP adds fuel to fire. Without hearing the voice of 20 million dwellers of Karachi, its problem can never be dissolved.
