Peshawar: At least 11 militants were killed and 11 others injured when Pakistan Army stormed their hideouts in Kurram tribal region near Afghan border, sources said on Friday.
The sources said that the forces had gained control over Sparket, Gawaki and other parts of mid Kurram areas, destroying 3 militants hideouts.
Pakistan launched military offensive in Kurram Agency , landing troops in several areas, backed by paramilitary forces and air force. Kurram Ageny has long witnessed sectarian violence losing several lives. The area is believed to be new stronghold of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants, who lost their sanctuaries in South Waziristan Agency following a military operation.
Sector Commander Brigadier Basharat on Wednesday said that the forces have gained control of Manto, main stronghold of militants in the area. He added that the army launched on Manto’s mountains from four dimensions.
