Swat: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the people and all the institutions of the country were united against terrorists and expressed resolved that the terrorists will be purged from the country.
Speaking at a seminar in Swat, the prime minister said elimination of the terrorists was in the interest of the entire nation.
He added that Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism should be appreciated as it had lost precious lives 35000 people and 5000 security officials. The prime minister said the country also suffered great economic losses in fight against terrorists. Glani said the country was facing internal and external challenges. Referring to the US drone strikes in Pakistan, the prime minister said the attacks were sheer violation of the country’s sovereignty.” The Americans should respect our sovereignty” Gilani added.
Gilani said stable Afghanistan was in the interest of Pakistan as both the countries have mutual interests the regions.
He reiterated that Pakistan wanted a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue. Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Kayani and ISPR Director General Athar Abbas also attended the seminar.
