Islamabad: The country is facing a power deficit of 5,469 megawatt, with generation of 13,252 megawatt and demand for 18,721 megawatt, Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) said on Saturday.
The dispute between the administration and workers of the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) has yet to be settled and the citizens have to suffer 8-14 hours long power outages.
The daily power outage of 12 to 20 hours a day in different parts of Pakistan has left people in a miserable condition.
The ever increasing power suspension has intensified the trouble of people in Sukkur, and the routine power outage in interior parts of Sindh has reached 12-16 hours.
The power outage has crippled the industry and trade throughout Pakistan, especially in various cities of Punjab.
The daily power outage has reached up to 20 hours a day in Peshawar.
