Abuja: At least 28 people were killed and two others were injured in a road accident in northern Nigeria when two buses carrying passengers collided head on Tuesday.
The accident occurred along a dual carriage road linking south-eastern city of Enugu and the Markudi town in northern Nigeria.
The fully loaded buses collided with each other, killing all occupants except two who were seriously injured.
“Properties belonging to the victims, including the discharged certificates of the corps members were littered around the accident scene while blood flowed freely,” a foreign news agency reported.
The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) evacuated the dead bodies and the injured were shifted to hospital.
