Wana: The United States unmanned drone fired several missiles in South Waziristan, the tribal area of Pakistan, killing at least seven people on late Friday night, official sources said.
According to Pakistan’s official sources, the US drones targeted the hideouts of alleged militants in the Gwakha area of Wana. The US drones fired three missiles in two separate drone attacks.Five other people were injured in the attacks in Wana, capital of South Waziristan.
It is worth mentioning here that US drones were fired when Pakistan’s annual budget was discussed throughout the country. There has already been severe anti-America sentiment in Pakistan, especially after the covert operation of US commandos in Abottabad that led to the death of former al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden. And such drone strikes are mounting more anti-US emotions among Pakistanis.
Panic gripped the area and people faces difficulties in rescue works following the continued visits of spy aircrafts.
