Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani on Thursday took notice of the apparent fake encounter in Kharotabad area of Quetta, wherein five unarmed Chechen nationals including three women were shot dead by FC personnel dubbing them suicide bombers.
The chief minister constituted a high-level body headed by Chief Secretary Balochistan to investigate the encounter.
It is to be mentioned here that on Tuesday, FC official shot dead five Chechen nationals including three women at an FC check post in Kharotababd area of Quetta. The FC and police claimed that the five foreigners were suicide bombers and were wearing suicide vests. Soon after the encounter, CCPO and commandant FC categorically said that no FC or Police officials were injured, as FC taking prompt action shot dead the ‘suicide bombers’ giving them no time to react.
However, two hours after the fake encounter, when media started raising questions over it, the police took the plea that an FC official was martyred in the encounter and three other injured. But there is no word from FC about the casualties and killing of its personal in the encounter.
The bodies remained lying at the site, as the police and FC was claiming they were wearing suicide vests. But later on it emerged they were not even carrying a pistol. They were only carrying their passports with them. The question arises here, is suicide bombers on suicidal missions carry passports with them.
The photage of one of the women begging for life with her hands up is making it evident that they were killed cold-bloodedly.
Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami has submitted adjournment motion in Senate over the killing of civilians in a fake encounter. On the other hand, large number of area residents of Kharotababd staged protest demonstration against the fake encounter, saying that unarmed civilians were killed cold-bloodedly in the fake encounter. They demanded of the government to take action against the responsible FC officials.
