Islamabad: Director General Inter-Services Intelligence Lieutenant General Ahmed Shuja Pasha has said Pakistan was kept unaware by the US operation.
Pakistan opposition leader Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan and Shuja Pasha exchanged hot words during the in-camera session of the parliament. Opposition leader said that all those responsible for intelligence failure should be identified and brought to justice and a disciplinary action must be taken against them.
The mood of the House turned serious when Khan insistently told the DG ISI that ‘brief us, don’t try to impose orders.’ On this, Pasha said he is ready to resign if the parliament wants him to leave. Neither Americans raised fingers over CIA after 9/11 incident nor Indians snubbed RAW after Mumbai attacks, only our intelligence agencies are being criticised after Abottabad operation, he stressed.
Earlier, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said there were no backlashes between the civilian and military leaderships. However, PML-Q leader Riaz Fatyana said that no one demanded resignation from the DG ISI.
