Washington: United Stated President Barack Obama will soon deliver a major speech over Middle East turmoil, but the date and location have yet to be confirmed, says White House Spokesman Jay Carney.
There’s a lot to talk about: Pro-democracy protests in Egypt, Tunisia, and Yemen; government crackdowns on protesters in Bahrain and Syria; an ongoing military conflict in Libya; US military withdrawals in Iraq and Afghanistan.
And, now, the death of Osama bin Laden.
Carney said, “The president will be delivering a speech in the relatively near future on the Middle East and on US policy in the Middle East.” “I don’t have a date to announce to you at this point,”
He added.
It sounds like the biggest Obama speech on this topic since his address to Muslim world from Cairo in June of 2009.
