Warsaw: Heavy snowfall and chilly temperatures disturbed routine life in southern parts of Poland.
Freezing added to the hazards facing drivers as May snowfall and freezing temperatures descended on south-western Poland.
Forty-six road deaths were reported with over 400 accidents have being reported since the May weekend began. Staying at home was not the solution as 100,000 homes were left without electricity in the Lower Silesia and Opole regions.
Temperatures have plummeted as low as zero degrees Celsius in some areas as frost and heavy fog hampered traffic. Traffic has struggled particularly as many drivers had already switched to summer tyres.
