Tripoli: Following a mob attack on an UN office, the United Nations is preparing to withdraw its all international staff from the Libyan capital Tripoli.
The UN building and some foreign missions were targeted by angry crowds following a NATO air strike that reportedly killed Libyan President Col Gaddafi’s youngest son Saif al Arab Gaddafi in the yesterday airstrikes. Gaddafi’s three grand sons were also killed in the NATO attack.
A UN said on the condition of anonymity that UN staff would leave Libya and the decision would be reviewed next week.
The British government expelled the Libyan ambassador after its premises were attacked, while Italy has also condemned the mob attack on its embassy in Tripoli.
At the other hand, Libyan forces loyal to Gaddafi have announced retaliation against NATO forces.
