Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Giani on Sunday telephoned Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Pervez Elahi and discussed with them the ongoing dialogue between the two parties for power-sharing.
This is for the first time that the Prime Minister Gilani has contacted PML-Q leaders after the power-sharing talks between the two parties started. The PM was kept out of the deliberations and President Zardari was himself handling the negotiations with the Chaudhrys.
During their telephonic conversations, the PM assured his full cooperation to PML-Q, saying,” Our ancestors worked together and the friendship would be transferred to the third generation.”
It is to be mentioned here that the PML-Q leaders would hold a meeting with President Zardari in Islamabad tonight, which will also be joined by Prime Minister Gilani for the first time since the start of negotiations between the two parties.
During the meeting it is expected that the two sides will sign the power sharing agreement and agreement for cooperation in next year’s Senate elections, coming local bodies’ elections and next general elections.
