London: Former Pakistani wicket-keeper Zulqarnain Hiader, who fled London via Dubai during a series against South Africa, has decided to claim indemnity against Geo TV, a private Pakistani TV channel.
Hider said he would claim indemnity of one million pound against Geo TV because it is trying to discredit his character. He also decided to claim indemnity against Imran Khan, former Pakistan captain.
He said he would reward the claim money to a charity institute. He said he would reach Pakistan according to the plan on April 24.
Haider on Thursday said, “I got two calls making death threats to me and my family if I returned home,” Geo News reported.
“I have reported the matter to the police and also provided them with the telephone number from which the calls were made.”
Earlier on Sunday, Haider said he would return to Pakistan this week and withdraw his application seeking asylum status from the British Home Office following his allegations of death threats from a match fixer.
