‘Kia karna ha itna parh kr…..Akhir krna tu HANDI ROTI ha’ In this society, where we open our eyes, all of us heard such kinds of remarks from our elders especially from paternal grand mother or maternal grand mother since very childhood. But after going to school, college and university I realized that,
“A girl could not be complete and successful without education.”
Everybody has the right to education, which has been recognised since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948. The right to free education metric has been declared as basic human right of every citizen under the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan after the 18th Amendment to the constitution.
There is need to ensure that basic education is available, accessible, acceptable and adaptable for all men and women without any discrimination. The right of girls to education is one of the most critical of all rights – because education plays an important role in enabling girls and women to secure other rights, besides helping and better equipping them to discharge their maternal responsibilities in a better and effective way.
There is no denying of the importance of HANDI ROTI, but an educated girl can better handle and manage the Handi Roti.
In the end, I would like to say all girls; What our grand parents used to say was not wrong, but what a great thing if we add taste of education in it, so, this HANDI ROTI will become delicious.
