Islamabad: Former Pakistani fast bowler Sarfraz Nawaz on Tuesday revealed that four Pakistani players had been given 2.5 billion each for losing the semifinal to India.
While talking to a private Pakistani TV channel, he said some reliable sources had informed him that four senior players of the team had been given the money. He said Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board “Ijaz Butt knows very well who is involved”.
He disclosed that some officials of the cricket board were also involved in match fixing. He said Akmal brothers, Kamran and Umer, should be shown the door.
Sarfraz said new players who performed well in domestic cricket should be given chances. He said Pakistani skipper Shahid Khan Afridi should not have talked to media repeatedly in India.
He said Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif should not give any reward to Pakistani players from the province’s budget.
