Lahore:Federal Investigation Agency on Thursday took Moonis Elahi into custody after the Lahore High Court rejected his bail plea in National Insurance Company limited (NICL) corruption case.
Moonis a son of former Punjab chief minister Pervez Elahi, involved in multi-million scam refused to sit in FIA vehicle after the court rejected his plea.
Additional Director General FIA Zafar Qureshi told the court that Rs 302 million were shifted into the Moonis’s account in the corruption scandal and the FIA had to recover the national wealth.
Senior lawyer and Moonis’s counsel SM Zafar said that the FIA was not a recovery agency, adding that his client has nothing to with the NICL case.
Moonis alleged that he was subjected to political victimization, adding that he would face all the cases registered against him as he respected the courts.
Later the sources said that Moonis had gone his house on FIA permission.
