Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari said on Wednesday that the issue of Raymond Davis was not as simple as believed.
While talking to US Senator John Kerry he said that Pakistan wanted to resolve the matter by consensus, adding that the matter was sub judice and the court has given the date for the proceedings.
The president said that it was necessary to review all the aspects of the case as it was very complicated issue, adding that cordial and strategic relations between the two countries should not be sacrificed on this issue.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was also present in the meeting.
Senator John Kerry is visiting Pakistan to discuss Raymond Davis issue.He had arrived Pakistan on Tuesday night.
Talking to a press conference he had said that Raymond Davis enjoyed diplomatic immunity and should be released immediately.
Senator John Kerry have met former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Finance Minister Hafeez Sheikh while he is schedule to have meetings with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Kiani.
