Baghdad: At least eight people including five policemen were killed after two bomb explosions ripped through Ramadi in Iraq’s western province of al-Anbar on Thursday.
An abandoned car rigged with explosives was blown up in the center of Ramadi, located 100 kilometers (60 miles) west of Baghdad.
Just then, a bomber detonated his explosives-laden vest. Eight people including five police officers died on the spot while 15 civilians received wounds.
The shock wave released by the blasts also inflicted damage on surrounding facilities and nearby buildings.
Police cordoned off the area after the incidents and started interrogation into the case.
It is pertinent to mention here that dozens of people have been killed during the recent sprees of violence in Iraq.
