Islamabad: A legislator of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Thursday demanded rightsizing of the National Assembly to cut unnecessary expenditures.
Taking part in the debate on price hike during National Assembly’s session on Thursday, PML-N leader Rana Tanveer said that General Musharraf had increased the strength of NA from 207 to 342, which led to increase in expenditures. He demanded that Assembly’s size be cut to lessen expenditures.
Tanveer said that the government was doing nothing for poverty alleviation and controlling the escalating prices of essential commodities.
He said that the poor people were running from pillar to the post to make both ends meet.
