KARACHI: A moderate earthquake of 7.3 magnitude jolted almost all areas of Pakistan on late Tuesday night, seismologists said.
Shocks were felt across Pakistan including Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Dera Murad Jamali, Quetta, Dera Ghazi Khan, Dadu, Larkana, Kheirpur, Qambar Shehdad Kot, Naserabad, Mityari, Karachi and other.
Following the earthquake incident, two women died due to heart attack and many houses collapsed in rural areas. However, walls of many houses received cracks in various cities of Pakistan.
According to American Geological Survey the magnitude of earthquake was 7.2 on rector scale in various areas.
Chief Meteorologist, Mohammad Riaz said that after shocks of the earthquake may be felt till next seven days.
The center of the earthquake was reported as Westren area of Kharan, Balochistan. It is pertinent to mention here that earthquake also jolted India, Afghanistan and Dubai.
Right after the earthquake, people came out, reciting Quranic verses and apologizing Almighty Allah. Severe panic has gripped the affected areas.
Furthermore it was the severest earthquake in the history of Karachi.
