Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Sunday demanded of the government to take action against the elements involved in targeted killing of its workers.
Addressing a press conference, MQM leader Wasi Jalil said that MQM workers hailing from a particular sect were being targeted. “This started with the killing of MQM MPA, Raza Haider last year and is continued till today,” he added. He said the killing MQM activist Yawar Abbas was continuation of the killings.
He said under a well thought-out plan sectarian conflict was being fuelled in Karachi.
He asked MQM workers to remain peaceful, adding that MQM believe in religious harmony. He vowed that MQM would not allow any conspiracy to fuel sectarianism in the city to succeed.
