Peshawar: At least 18 people were killed and several others injured in US drone strikes in North Waziristan agency of Pakistan’s north western tribal region on Friday, security sources said.
The sources said that the unmanned US plane fired ten missiles in three different attacks in in Tehsil Shawal of the agency on Friday. They added that at least 18 people were killed in the attacks.
Pakistan state television reported that the incident occurred at Tanda Dara, the bordering town with Afghanistan, that killed 18 people and injured several others.
The recent attacks came just a day after Pakistan foreign office summoned a senior United States diplomat to lodge protest over drone strikes the Agency that killed over 15 alleged militants in one week.
The FO informed the US diplomat that drone strikes were unlawful, against international law and a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty.
