Lahore: Shahbaz Taseer, a son of former Punjab governor Salman Taseer, has been kidnapped in Lahore.
Sources said that Shahbaz was travelling in his vehicle and four armed men riding a vehicle intercepted him near Hussain Chowk in Gulberg.
Police said that he was kidnapped on gunpoint and they were trying to locate the culprits. The sources said that police and intelligence agencies have started investigation. Police officer Razzaq Cheem told media that the kidnappers had thrown a pistol and a triple-2 rifle while escaping.
An American national Warren Weinstein and a business tycoon have also been abducted in recent days in the cultural hub of Pakistan.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has taken notice of Taseer’s kidnap and directed the police to recover him.He also telephoned family of Salman Taseer.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik has ordered the IG Punjab Police and FIA director to set up pickets at the entry and exit points of the city.
Former Pnujab governor Salman Taseer was assassinated by his own guard in January this year.
