Gaza Death Toll Surpasses 38,000 in Ongoing Israeli War on Gaza

Gaza City: The death toll in Gaza has climbed to over 38,000 as Israel’s offensive continues, with 58 Palestinians killed and 179 injured in the last 24 hours alone.

In a devastating strike near Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, seven Palestinians lost their lives when an Israeli air raid targeted a five-storey building. This comes just days after Israel ordered approximately 250,000 residents to evacuate the eastern parts of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

The main medical center in Khan Younis also suffered a tragic hit, as another Israeli air raid on a neighboring residential building claimed the lives of at least seven individuals, according to hospital authorities and witnesses.

Additionally, a school sheltering displaced people in Gaza City’s Daraj neighborhood was targeted, resulting in multiple casualties and injuries. Israeli forces have been concentrating their attacks on residential areas in Shaaf and Daraj neighborhoods, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

Since the onset of the conflict on October 7, at least 38,011 Palestinians have been killed and 87,445 wounded in Gaza in relentless Israeli attacks.

Rise in Settler Attacks, Israel Stealing More Land

Meanwhile, violence has surged in the occupied West Bank, where Israeli settlers continue to attack Palestinian homes. Local sources report overnight attacks that led to the vandalism and burning of several homes, theft of livestock, and assaults on international activists protecting Palestinian communities.

Settler attacks, averaging four per day, have been documented by the UN, which reports 1,050 such incidents since October 7. Peace Now, a settlements monitoring organization, disclosed that Israeli authorities have approved the seizure of 12.7 square kilometers (5 square miles) of land in the occupied West Bank.

The UN also revealed that more than 20 Palestinian communities, comprising at least 1,000 people, have disappeared in the Masafer Yatta area and the Jordan Valley since the conflict began. These rural communities are being displaced into urban areas as their land is cleared of Palestinian presence.
