Gaza City: The Israeli relentless attacks on Gaza have intensified, with at least 75 Palestinians killed in central Gaza over the past day alone. Morgues are overwhelmed, and hospitals are struggling to treat the surge of casualties in Deir el-Balah, according to medical sources.
Israeli forces have announced their incursion into the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza’s Deir el-Balah, accompanied by airstrikes and artillery bombardment in the area. The attacks have targeted refugee camps, resulting in the deaths of at least 15 people on Tuesday.
Rescue operations are ongoing, with six more bodies discovered and eight individuals found wounded near Deir el-Balah. The Palestine Red Crescent Society retrieved the bodies of six Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes and provided assistance to the wounded in the Ja’frawi neighborhood.
Since October 7, at least 36,550 Palestinians have been killed and 82,959 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza.
Meanwhile, in the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers have razed Palestinian lands in the Wadi Qana area, northwest of Salfit, as reported by Palestinian news agency Wafa.
Human Rights Watch has condemned Israel’s use of white phosphorous munitions in its cross-border attacks on southern Lebanon, warning of grave risks to civilians and further displacement. The International Criminal Court has heightened its security measures following alleged attempts of intelligence gathering by countries hostile to the court, with media reports suggesting Israeli involvement.
ICC Under Threat from Israel:
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has ramped up its security measures after experiencing what it describes as “unprecedented intelligence gathering attempts by countries hostile to the court”. Recent media reports uncovered that Israel used its intelligence agencies to intimidate the ICC into abandoning war crimes investigations.
It is worth noting that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordered Israel to stop its offensive in Rafah, a city in southern Gaza, and to withdraw from the area, in response to a case filed by South Africa, accusing Israel of genocide and highlighting the “immense risk” to the Palestinian population. But Israel has ignored the ruling by the judges at the United Nations’ highest court and continued its barbaric attacks on Rafah that have claimed the lives of several Palestinian civilians seeking shelter in the area.
Israelis Storm Al Aqsa Mosque Again:
In a provocative move, hundreds of far-right Israelis stormed Al Aqsa Mosque again ahead of the contentious “Flag March” in occupied East Jerusalem. The march, marked by ultranationalist youth chanting anti-Arab slogans, passes through the Muslim quarter, a deeply provocative act for Palestinians.
The event has sparked fears of further escalation and violence as in the previous marches Israelis have targeted and attacked Palestinians living in the area.
