Peshawar: National cricketer Mohammad Rizwan stated that there have been many comments about the Pakistan cricket team that are far from reality.
Speaking to the media in Peshawar, the national wicketkeeper-batsman said that the criticism they are facing is deserved, as they have not lived up to the nation’s expectations. He mentioned that it is the right of the PCB chairman to decide which players should be included in the team.
Mohammad Rizwan expressed his disappointment over the team’s performance in the T20 World Cup, stating that wins and losses are part of the game. He dismissed the notion of favoritism within the team, emphasizing that hard work and determination are what matter. Everyone plays for the green flag, and after a poor performance, they are ready to face criticism. He added that when the team loses, it is not due to a single reason.
He stated that when the team loses, it cannot be said that the batting and bowling were strong. Those who cannot face criticism cannot succeed. The criticism being made on players is not unjustified. They should not focus on what people say but on what they can do for the country.
The Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman acknowledged that there are many weaknesses that lead to being knocked out of a tournament. Operations happen; when a person is ill, they undergo surgery. The Champions Trophy is still far away, and the tour of Bangladesh is near. Despite everything, the nation continues to love them, he said.
