New Delhi: Indian opposition leader and member of the Indian National Congress, Rahul Gandhi, recited Durood Sharif during his speech in the Lok Sabha.
In his address, Rahul Gandhi said that the BJP has always spread fear among people. He quoted the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) saying, “Do not fear anyone; these people cannot harm you,” and mentioned that the Quran also speaks about fearlessness.
While sending blessings upon Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he said that all great personalities have preached non-violence and the elimination of fear, urging people not to be afraid.
Rahul Gandhi further stated in his speech that BJP leaders spread hatred, fear, and violence. He added that BJP leaders claim to be Hindus but spread hatred.
The BJP was displeased with Rahul Gandhi’s statement, and Prime Minister Modi said that the opposition leader accused the entire Hindu community of violence.
Narendra Modi demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi for his statement. In response, Rahul Gandhi said that Narendra Modi and the RSS do not represent the entire Hindu society.
Holding pictures of Guru Nanak, Lord Shiva, and Jesus Christ, the opposition leader highlighted the importance of fearlessness by referencing Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism, Christianity, Buddhism, and Jainism. Gandhi also cited the attributes of Lord Shiva and the teachings of Guru Nanak, Buddha, Jesus Christ, and Mahavira, stating that all religions and great figures teach, “Do not fear, do not instill fear in others.”
