Every Citizen of Pakistan Owes Rs. 280,000 in Debt

Islamabad: The government of Pakistan has presented the economic survey for the new fiscal year, revealing that every citizen of the country is in debt of Rs 280,000.

According to the news agency, Federal Minister of Finance Mohammad Aurangzeb presented the economic survey for the new fiscal year 2024-25. According to the survey, Pakistan’s total debt has reached Rs 67,525 billion, with domestic debt amounting to Rs 43,432 billion.

The survey also reported that the country’s external debt stands at Rs 24,093 billion, resulting in each citizen owing Rs 280,000.

According to the economic survey, the country’s total debt is 74.8% of GDP, with external debt accounting for 28.6% of GDP and domestic debt making up 46.2% of GDP.
