“PTI Not Getting Justice Since Faez Isa Became Chief Justice”, says Raoof Hasan

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary, Raoof Hasan, has alleged that since Qazi Faez Isa became Chief Justice, they have not been getting justice.

In an interview with a private TV channel, Hasan criticized the judiciary for not hearing PTI-related cases since Isa took charge as Chief Justice of Pakistan. The senior PTI leader said that they were not getting justice before either, but now their petitions are not even being considered.

He said their Core Committee has stated that Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa should not preside over their cases.

Hasan emphasized that CJP Isa should recuse himself from benches dealing with PTI cases, citing concerns over impartiality. He stated that it is not a good tradition for judges not to separate themselves from benches for some reason and that the PTI core committee wants Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa not to sit on benches in their cases.,

He expressed that the way decisions are being made unfortunately shows bias, which strengthens their demand. The PTI spokesperson stated that in the iddat marriage case, they had initially requested the judge to recuse themselves from the case, but the judge had refused. On the day the verdict was supposed to be announced, the judge recused themselves. They knew what the merit-based decision of the iddat case would be.

Raoof Hasan further stated that, in principle, the judiciary should not be used for political matters, and the courts should not allow themselves to be used in this way.

The PTI spokesperson also addressed a notice from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), summoning him regarding a controversial social media post on Dhaka’s fall in 1971. The post from Imran Khan’s official X (formerly Twitter) account suggested revisiting the Hamoodur Rahman Commission Report and questioned the roles of General Yahya Khan and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Pakistan’s breakup.

Hasan clarified that the post was intended to highlight historical mistakes for public awareness and not to target the military. He noted that the PTI core committee supports the video but awaits legal advice on whether to delete the tweet.

He also mentioned that he had received a notice from the FIA regarding a tweet and has been summoned by the FIA at 11 am on Wednesday.
