Cabinet to approve mini-budget before tabling in NA

ISLAMABAD: A special session of the federal cabinet has been convened to approve the mini-budget the government is going to introduce in the National Assembly today.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the special session.

The cabinet will approve the mini-budget and the supplementary finance bill. Later in the day, Finance Minister Asad Umar will table the same in the National Assembly.

Before the presentation of the mini-budget, parliamentary party meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its allies will be held at Parliament House. The meeting will evolve a strategy to deal with expected opposition protest in the house.

The Prime Minister has directed all members of the National Assembly belonging to PTI to ensure their presence in the session and parliamentary party meeting.

The finance minister on Jan 11 announced that his party would unveil the mini-budget about two weeks later.
