ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has envisaged a policy to blockĀ Short Message Service (SMS) for those sending messages in bulk quantity.
Sources said that PTA has decided to terminate SMS service in case more than 200 SMS be sent in 15 minutes from any SIM card.
After such closure, customer will have to submit an Affidavit for re-opening of the service and the restoration will only be for one time.
A second time violation will end in a permanent SMS ban.
PTA has been taking measures for the stoppage of unwanted SMS for some time and the latest move came after customer complaints.
