1700-Year-Old Arch of Constantine Building Struck by Lightning in Rome

A 1700-year-old building in Rome, known as the Arch of Constantine, was struck by lightning, causing severe damage. This structure was built to celebrate Emperor Constantine’s victory over Maxentius after the Battle of the Milvian Bridge.

Restoration efforts have already begun to repair the damage caused by the lightning strike. The restoration work is progressing rapidly at the Colosseum Archaeological Complex, with hundreds of craftsmen employed and equipped with the necessary tools. The fallen pieces of the structure are being put back in place.

For tourists visiting Rome, the Arch of Constantine is a key landmark along with the Colosseum. It serves as a significant reminder of the golden age of the Roman Empire, which was at its peak before it began to decline.
