Seeded third, Ayaz showcased resilience and skill, defeating Bhargava 3-1 in a thrilling match. After taking the first game 11-6, Ayaz faced a setback as Bhargava claimed the second game 8-11. However, Ayaz quickly regained control, winning the next two games 11-3 and 11-8, to clinch the title.
Ayaz’s journey to the final saw him overcoming formidable opponents, including Malaysia’s Yee Xian Siow in the semi-finals and Ireland’s Denis Gilevskiy in the second round. This victory marks Ayaz’s fifth title since his comeback from injury, highlighting his remarkable return to form.
The Colleyville Open Squash Tournament, with a total prize pool of $3,000, further cements Ayaz’s reputation as a rising star in the squash world.
