Customer’s Request for Extra Chutney Leads to Knife Attack by Vendor

New Delhi: In a bizarre incident in the federal capital of New Delhi, a customer’s request for extra chutney with gol gappas (a popular Indian-Pakistani snack) resulted in a violent attack. The vendor, angered by the request, attacked the customer with a knife.

According to media reports, Ram Lal, a local resident, was eating gol gappay in the Shahdara area when the vendor, enraged by the demand for additional chutney, pulled out a knife and attacked him. The young man sustained significant injuries. Bystanders intervened and quickly transported Ram Lal to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Upon receiving news of the incident, local police arrived at the scene, locked up the shop, and arrested the vendor and his employees. When questioned by the police about the motive for the attack, the vendor explained that he had previously asked the customer to stop requesting extra chutney three times, but the customer continued to insist. The vendor’s frustration, compounded by the shop’s crowd, led to the attack.
