Pakistan’s Largest Tech Festival ‘ITCN Asia’ Ongoing in Karachi

Karachi: The 25th edition of ITCN Asia, an annual conference, has commenced in Karachi, bringing together IT professionals, technology companies, government officials, and other stakeholders. The three-day event will continue until Thursday (today), where discussions on new technological advancements, industry trends, and business opportunities will take place.
Pakistan’s information technology companies, participating in the country’s largest tech festival ITCN Asia have expressed their interest in exploring extensive opportunities in Saudi Arabia’s “rapidly emerging” market, where they see access to cutting-edge technology, lucrative projects, and innovation opportunities.

Saad Ali, CEO of Hexalyze Consulting Services, whose company is registered in both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, stated that Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing market offers significant opportunities for Pakistanis. “There are large-scale projects here, including mega-projects like NEOM,” he said, emphasizing that his company is focused on the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia. “This sector is growing rapidly, and all major IT companies are currently establishing their headquarters and branch offices in Saudi Arabia.”

Zohaib Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), praised Saudi Arabia’s growing capabilities in the IT sector under Vision 2030. “We need to capture this market and bring some innovation to Saudi Arabia.”

Rida Shamim, Founder and CEO of HR Ways, appreciated the region’s swift adoption of technology and responsiveness. “I noticed that the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region is becoming one of the preferred destinations for Pakistani software engineers,” she said, also commending Saudi Arabia for allowing women to join the workforce and attain prominent positions.

Muhammad Umair Nizam, Project Director of ITCN Asia, agreed that now is the right time for Pakistani companies to enter the Saudi market. “Many Pakistani companies are already exploring this market. Some have established their regional offices in Saudi Arabia, and others have relocated their headquarters there,” he said.

“I believe that in the near future, given the strong Saudi-Pakistan relations, we will play a significant role in the Saudi tech ecosystem.”

He also mentioned that the next edition of ITCN Asia, scheduled to be held in Islamabad in December, will feature a Saudi Arabia pavilion.
